The Bruins have been hit hard with the injury bug recently, and it resulted in them having to recall players from the American Hockey League.
After losing both Charlie McAvoy and Viktor Arvidsson to injuries, the Bruins had to make some roster moves.
Ahead of their game against the Hurricanes, Casey Mittelstadt and Viktor Arvidsson were both placed on injury reserve.
This opened up some room for the Bruins to make some roster moves and recall both Matej Blumel and Riley Tufte.
In their season debuts, Tufte ended up making an impact, scoring the Bruins' only goal of the game with 10 seconds remaining.
After the loss, goaltender Jeremy Swayman ended up praising the team about their next-man-up mentality.
Swayman speaks on recent injuries
«I thought we've had a great mentality of just next-man-up,» Swayman said on Monday, as seen on NESN's postgame coverage. «Anyone who is in this lineup is going to do their job to a T. Really proud of the guys that have stepped in and played their role well.
«It is a system that works, so with guys in the right spots, it is going to work. With reps, with games, shift after shift, you are going to get more and more chemistry with each other.»

Tufte, in his debut, finished the game with 15:13 of ice time and scored a goal, and Blumel only had 13:10 of ice time in the loss.
After losing to the Carolina Hurricanes on home ice, the Bruins ended up falling to a 12-9-0 record.
Now the Bruins are heading on a four-game road trip that begins in Anaheim, where they will take on the Ducks Wednesday.
