Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy may have to require surgery for the injury he suffered the other night against the Montreal Canadiens.

McAvoy suffered a gruesome injury against the Canadiens whenever he took a slapshot to the face.
This injury came at the wrong time. The Bruins were just starting to get rolling, and McAvoy has been a big part of that.
After their morning skate, head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that McAvoy will not be available to play tonight. Who would have thought?
Charlie McAvoy out for tonight. He's seeing doctors today, but no definitive update. Doesn't sound like he's going to be back anytime soon. Pending roster move with Johnny Beecher, which is why he was held off the ice for morning skate today
Now, some new details have emerged, and there is a chance that Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy will have to go for surgery.

Sturm confirms McAvoy may have to undergo surgery

After confirming that the Bruins star defenseman was not going to be able to play tonight, Sturm stated that there is a chance McAvoy will have to go for surgery on his injury.
