Brad Marchand is officially a two time Stanley Cup Champion after defeating the Edmonton Oilers with the Florida Panthers in 6 games.
The
Florida Panthers acquired Marchand during the NHL trade deadline for a conditional second-round pick, and he played a vital role in them becoming back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions.
During their run this year,
Marchand ended up scoring 10 goals, and having 10 assists for 20 points in 23 games.
Three of his goals ended up being game winners.. Not bad for a 37-year-old who only costed them a conditional second-round pick.
Because of his performance, there were a lot of people that thought he was going to
win the Conn Smythe Trophy, but he ended up getting robbed of it.
Instead, teammate
Sam Bennett ended up taking it home, but Marchand just nearly missed out on it.
BENNETT IS THE CONN SMYTHE WINNER! 👏
After leading the League with 15 goals through the postseason, Sam Bennett has been crowned the MVP of these #StanleyCup Playoffs.
Here is the official voting for the Conn Smythe:
