The Boston Bruins don't have the biggest amount of cap space to play with this summer but should still be active.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney needs to get
Charlie McAvoy and
Brandon Carlo under contract and the team would be set at defense and between the pipes.
At least that's what we thought.
Just a couple of days after head coach Bruce Cassidy said he expects to give Jaroslav Halak a bigger workload next season to give Tuukka some rest, Halak might not be around to do it.
Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports that the Bruins and Sweeney will be in the market to add a goalie on Monday during free agency.
What this means for Halak is unsure.
Will the Bruins sign a goalie to create competition or are they exploring the idea of trading Halak?
