It was a tense one that definitely had some Boston Bruins' fans on the edge of their seat during the final period but the B's came away with the win against the Buffalo Sabres.

After grabbing the 2-1 lead, the Sabres tied it up in the third period and almost won the game in overtime.

When all was said and done, the Bruins took the 3-2 win in shootout.

It was Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar's Bruins debut.

Hall had three shots on goal and after the game head coach Bruce Cassidy's message was clear for Hall, you don't have to fill up the stat sheet but just help us win.

"To get a guy of Taylor's magnitude, knowing we could use that extra layer of secondary scoring, was big for our guys," Cassidy said.

"A guy that's scored his whole life, what will get him going is producing offensively, right? That's what they're just used to," Cassidy said. "That's probably how they've been measured their whole life, right or wrong. That becomes the story. I've told him, ‘Hey, you're going to play with good players here. But help us win games. That's how we're measuring you.' We measure ourselves here with wins and losses."
