Jakob Chychrun trade rumors have been around since the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline.
The star defenseman announced he wasn't interested in being apart of another rebuild in Arizona, and while he's unwilling to enter another rebuild, the Coyotes are.
However, there's one weird factor that has been stalling any trade talks involving Chychrun.
Per NHL Network correspondent Craig Morgan, has a small number of teams who he would consider moving to, and that's what has been the hold up.
Interesting note on Jakob Chychrun from a @CraigSMorgan podcast hit yesterday. Craig insinuated Chychrun wants to get traded to a small # of teams & that's part of what has stalled the trade. "I've heard it alluded to yes, I've heard that was some of what's going on" #NHL #Yotes
Even though Chyrchrun's modified no-trade clause doesn't kick in until the 2023-24 season, GM Bill Armstrong is still honouring his request.
