The Providence Bruins played the Laval Rocket last night in the second of back to back games.
Just like the NHL, the AHL rivalry between the Providence Bruins and Montreal Canadiens' AHL affiliate Rocket is pretty intense.
Unfortunately it crossed the line last night as Rocket forward, Michael McCarron laid out an extremely dirty and dangerous head shot on Bruins' forward Brendan Gaunce.
It was an open ice hit and Gaunce wasn't anywhere close to the puck.
The hit should be considered suspension worthy and Gaunce had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher and was also bleeding.
McCarron was not assessed any penalty on the play.
