A major announcement between Original Six rivals Boston Bruins & Chicago Blackhawks was just confirmed

After missing the playoffs last year for the first time in eight years, many believed the Bruins were going to make some big moves.

At least people believed the Bruins were going to try and acquire a true top-six forward. Instead they acquired Viktor Arvidsson via a trade with the Edmonton Oilers.

Arvidsson can be a top-six player for the Boston Bruins, but on many other teams he would fit in the top-nine.

He has scored over 30 goals once in his career, but that was 7-years ago. The closest he has been since then was 26 three years ago, but his numbers have been dipping over the years.

With the Boston Bruins more then likely done making moves, they are looking forward to the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

The NHL just released the teams official schedules, and an announcement was made involving two Original Six teams.

With the official schedules dropping, it was revealed that the Bruins are going to be facing off against an Original Six team in the Chicago Blackhawks for their season opener.

Their first official game of the season is going to take place on October 8th, when the Bruins face off against the NHL's highest goal scorer in history in Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals:
