A recent trade offer on the table for the Boston Bruins would see the organization combining for a trade with the Edmonton Oilers, who are deeply struggling in that category.
While Swayman has been linked to the Oilers, it's clear as day that general manager Stan Bowman does not have enough assets that he's willing to part ways with to acquire the Bruins' #1 netminder.
In this case, it would be Korpisalo out the door to Edmonton:
Trusted NHL source reveals trade development with Bruins goaltender
A trusted NHL source of RG.com has unveiled that teams were indeed calling on Joonas Korpisalo in April, shortly before that during the NHL regular season the Bruins netminder appeared frustrated to be playing in Jeremy Swayman's shadows, causing a potential rift in Boston.
"They got calls and I know that, a trusted NHL source told RG in April. What materialized and how far, I can't tell you, but there was some interest."
In the coming weeks, it appears more likely of a trade materialize.
With Korpisalo out the door, the Bruins have Michael DiPietro, arguably the AHL goaltender of the season knocking on the door for a full-time NHL opportunity behind Jeremy Swayman.
