During the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins used their top-10 draft pick on New York native, James Hagens.
«Hagens was selected by the Boston Bruins with the No. 7 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft after handling himself well as a freshman despite being the fourth-youngest player in college hockey. He played with his older brother, Michael, adjusted to the defensive side of the game and learned how to become a strong two-way center under BC coach Greg Brown.
