Boston Bruins top prospect in their pool, underwent an offseason transformation, and is now looking completely different ahead of his return to college.
Hagens ended up dropping down to 7th overall, where the Boston Bruins ended up picking him, and this was mainly due to him being undersized.
Throughout the league, there was some concerns between the scouts that his body was not suited for the NHL.
Entering training camp, it was clear that
Hagens had made a big change this off-season, and he currently weights 15-pounds heavier then he did last season.
That's a few more pounds added for Hagens even since the draft, and 15 pounds since last year at this time. Good place to be as long as it's not affecting his speed and agility.
There already is a lot of hype around Hagens returning back to BC hockey for another year, and if fans start seeing Hagens look like a man amongst boys in college hockey, the hype will only get bigger.
Hagens' motivation to pack on some pounds wasn't just to be a better player for the Eagles this year.
But if that was his motivation to bulk up this summer, the future of his career is going to be a bright one.
There is some speculation that Hagens could sign once his college season is over, and this just furthers the idea.
Do you think James Hagens is going to sign his entry level deal with the Boston Bruins once his college season is over?
