At practice this morning, a notable player was missing and many were unsure the reasoning behind it.
Georgii Merkulov who recently got called up was not at practice today with the Bruins and it led to speculation that a roster move was about to happen.
Merkulov has been pretty solid for the Bruins, and many believed that he earned the opportunity to get more looks with the team.
But later during practice it became official that the Boston Bruins were sending Merkulov back down to the Providence Bruins.
In return the Boston Bruins ended up calling up Marc McLaughlin, who has been on a tear for the Bruins in Providence.
McLaughlin is currently on a five game goal streak with the American Hockey League affiliate.
In 15 games with the Providence Bruins this year, McLaughlin has five goals, along with five assists for 10 points.
Although he has not seen much NHL action, McLaughlin has only appeared in 14 NHL games in his professional career.
Some are curious on why the Bruins decided to make this move when McLaughlin was just starting to get going in Providence.
Not only that, but fans believe that Merkulov deserved the chance to get more shots after how solid his play has been the past couple of games.
