A bold statement has been issued by the Boston Bruins' CEO, Charlie Jacobs, regarding the upcoming 2025/26 NHL season.

The Boston Bruins organization concluded their last campaign in an extremely unfortunate way, as this Original Six franchise departed with some huge talents, and in doing so, they ultimately made their way into the NHL basement.
Evidently, the Boston Bruins took a great drop in standings, and this eventually caused the organization to miss postseason contention for the first time since the 2015/16 NHL season.
And although this offseason has been an extremely busy one for Boston as they continue to pursuit their ongoing retool, fans are still doubtful that this team can compete for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
However, recent insight has revealed that there is still optimism within Boston.

CEO Charlie Jacobs unveiled his prediction for the Boston Bruins' 2025/26 NHL season

Boston Bruins' CEO, Charlie Jacobs, recently revealed that he predicts fans will be 'pleasantly surprised' with this team during next campaign.
In a recent interview, Jacobs was questioned about what's next for the Bruins, and while an immense amount of people don't believe that Boston has it in them to be contenders, he expressed plenty of hope, especially following a busy summer.
Take a look:
"Yeah - we certainly did do a lot, certainly since last year's trade deadline in terms of player personnel on the ice and head coaching. So, yeah - I think there's a lot of new faces. There's a lot of new energy. And frankly, we needed to change the energy from last year. We owed our fan base a lot more than what we showed last year, and it was time for us to roll up our sleeves and get to work on a remake, frankly. And I think that you'll see that in October."
This confidence has been suggested to be due to the organization's recent hiring of new coach, Marco Sturm, because when his name came up, Jacobs seemed to be more than ecstatic, stating many will be pleased this upcoming season as a result of his hiring.
"So Marco is incredible. He's quite a communicator, and he's a passionate communicator. And he has the experience of playing under a lot of very system oriented coaches while he was a player. And he will tell you about his journey to why he's here today as a National Hockey League head coach. He knew, or at least he had a pretty good idea of what it was going to take for him to skill-up enough to be able to step on that bench and lead a team on that National Hockey League level. And it's quite a journey, and it's quite a story. And I think he's going to be - I think all of us will be pleasantly surprised by what we see on the ice."
