The Boston Bruins have made some strong moves during the offseason, as GM Don Sweeney was busy.
He added defenseman Nikita Zadarov, and elite center Elias Lindholm, and should add needed offense and defense sorely lacking. Especially in the post-season, given the Bruins were running on fumes.
This put Jeremy Swayman in the starting goalie position for the Boston Bruins, but he and the Bruins couldn't come to terms during free agency.
Swayman and the team opted not to file for arbitration, which suggests a deal is close.
But Charlie Jacobs offered his viewpoint on the situation on Tuesday on WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon.
"I try not to comment on player personnel contract negotiations. We are still negotiating with Sway," the Bruins CEO and alternate governor said on "Gresh & Fauria," per WEEI. "I hope that he's ready to play come training camp. We have some things to work out. I'm sure we'll get there."
Jacobs thinks the Bruins have unfinished business and that exclusively meant the team signing Swayman to a contract.
NESN Analyst and former Bruins goalie, Andrew Raycroft believes the team and Swayman could reach a deal soon, which Jacobs confirmed on Tuesday, they're close.
