Boston Bruins debut a new second line: Jake DeBrusk replaced
The Boston Bruins have debuted a new second line, and we may now know who will be replacing former Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk this season.
The Boston Bruins took an aggressive approach with Jake DeBrusk in the off-season, but ultimately the two sides could not come to an agreement, as DeBrusk did not like what the Bruins had to offer, and Don Sweeney wasn't willing to offer him anything else.
We aren't sure what the numbers are or the term was, that was offered to DeBrusk, but it was enough for him to go and
sign with the Vancouver Canucks during free agency.
DeBrusk signed a 7-year $5.5 million contract. The Vancouver Canucks also signed 2 other Boston Bruins players in
Danton Heinen, and
Derek Forbort.
The Bruins did not want to go out and sign a top six forward in free agency, or make a trade for one. They made it clear they want to find someone in their organization to replace Jake DeBrusk, and we might of just found out who it is.
A line this morning that got my attention:
Marchand-Coyle-Lysell
Lysell really impressed the Boston Bruins during their last game against the Washington Capitals, and he is now being rewarded by taking the open spot on the second line right wing with captain Brad Marchand, and Charlie Coyle.
There was a lot of hype surrounding Fabian Lysell coming into this camp, and he has a legitimate chance to make the roster, but it's not going to be handed to him.
