After finally making his return back to the Bruins lineup last night, Hampus Lindholm broke the silence on his injury.
Before last night, Lindholm missed the Bruins' last seven out of eight games. He was listed as day-to-day for a couple of weeks, and fans thought that he was going to be out for a while, slowly losing hope.
This feeling was increased whenever the Bruins ended up placing him on IR just a couple of days ago.
Surprisingly though, right before their game against the New York Islanders, the Bruins announced that Lindholm was being
activated from IR.
Along with that,
Michael Callahan was reassigned to the Providence Bruins, signaling that Lindholm was going to return back to the lineup.
Head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that Lindholm was going to be back in the lineup for the Bruins for the first time in five games.
Lindholm speaks on his injury
After the game, Lindholm was met by the media, where he ended up speaking on the injury that kept him out for a while.
Lindholm stated that the injury is behind him now and that his body is feeling good. He also had some other things to say, take a look:
A few things from Hampus Lindholm about his injury:
- He says the injury is behind him: "Yeah, no, I'm looking ahead. And it's like I said, my body feels good."
- The extra time to get back wasn't due to an 'overly cautious' approach by the training staff
- He is back to playing and practicing at full speed because he has no other gear
Having Lindholm back gave the Bruins a big boost, as they went on to win 5-2 against the Islanders after trailing 2-0 early.
