The Boston Bruins made a shocking decision last Tuesday as they ended up firing Jim Montgomery as they head coach, and replaced him with Joe Sacco.
Just five days after being fired by the Boston Bruins, Jim Montgomery ended up landing a new head coaching job, this time with the St. Louis Blues. Bruins fans feel like there could have been some tampering involved in this situation.
Bruins fans feel like Jim Montgomery gave up towards the end, and basically knew he was going to get fired to get a job he really wanted.
Jim Montgomery became the head coach of the Boston Bruins on June 30th of 2022, since then he has become one of the most winningest head coach's in the league, and before being fired Montgomery had a record of 120-43-21 with the Boston Bruins.
After being fired by the team there was a lot of speculation that he would end up back on the Blues coaching staff due to the fact that he still owns a house in St. Louis.
According to multiple reports after Montgomery's firing, the Bruins reportedly had a contract extension in place for Jim Montgomery, but he ultimately ended up turning it down, and many believe that is because Montgomery didn't like the direction the team was heading in.
Personally I don't think there was any tampering being done in this situation, the St. Louis Blues just took advantage of a really good head coach being available after the Bruins ended up firing him.
