Boston Bruins General Manager has revealed his true colours towards star forward David Pastrnak after an ugly 2024-25 season.

David Pastrnak's season this year was definitely over looked, especially after the NHL announced their finalists for the Hart Trophy, and he was not a candidate. Instead Leon Draisaitl, Connor Hellebuyck, and Nikita Kucherov were the finalists.
Even though he was not a finalists for the Hart, David Pastrnak easily had the best season of his career.
Pastrnak became just the third Boston Bruins player in franchise history to record three straight 100-point seasons, joining Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito. Because of how bad the Bruins were this season, Pastrnak should have been looked at as a finalists for the Hart Trophy.
If it wasn't for Pastrnak, the Boston Bruins would have been a way worse team this season. He ended up finishing off the year tied for third in points in the league with Draisaitl, and Pastrnak got off to a slow start.

Sweeney Reveals His True Feelings Towards David Pastrnak

Sweeney recently revealed that David Pastrnak was dealing with a knee injury to begin the season, and if it wasn't for that he possibly could have had a better season than what he did.
«If you look and see at the start of the season that David got off to, the fact is that's where he ended up in the scoring races, and overall in the league is even more impressive, because he, as well, did not get off to a torrid start by any means,» Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said during a recent appearance on the «100% Hockey» podcast. «He came off a little bit of knee stuff in the offseason. (He) probably didn't have the most effective training schedule that he's generally accustomed to having.

«So, he had a little bit of a slow start, but boy, did he produce. By year's end, he was in the top echelon of the league, right where he belongs.»

The Bruins are hopeful they can get a 100% healthy David Pastrnak next season, and hopeful that he can have another career year.
