Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney set to acquire a young star player through a offer sheet during the off-season
A recent report has now confirmed that the Boston Bruins may be acquiring a key offensive piece in their retooling process led by general manager Don Sweeney.
This off-season will be the most crucial time for the Bruins and Don Sweeney, after embarking the true 're-tooling' process through parting ways with several players at the NHL trade deadline, they are now in dire need of prominent players in their mid 20's to lead the team back to their winning ways.
Fans may have lost a great amount of trust in GM Don Sweeney for his actions in trading away
Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers, but after recently signing a
two-year extension with the organization, fans are left with no option to put their trust into their GM moving forward.
Sweeney could replenish his reputation amongst Bruins fans with a bold off-season, and according to a latest report, the Bruins could be set to acquire a young goal scoring forward through an offer sheet to JJ Peterka.
A once highly touted prospect, his value and confidence on the ice has now exactly went how he'd plan to with the dreadful Sabres team, but a shift to an organization such as the Bruins could be all he needs to take his already prominent game, to the next level.
The Buffalo Sabre's 2020 second-round pick (34 overall) has accumulated 27 goals, 41 assists, totalling at a whopping 68 points in 77 games endured.
And whilst it is uncertain whether or not the Bruins front office will pursue his acquisition, Boston fans are hopeful as the organization is in desperate need of this skill level as they continue to strive towards their rebuild.
