Speculations and rumors have suggested that the Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, and front office are set to complete yet another blockbuster trade this year, and it's shocking.

The Boston Bruins are currently overcrowded in the net, as they have three solid NHL level netminders on their roster.
Meanwhile, plenty of NHL teams are seeking to add talent in that position.
That being said, this Original Six franchise is more than likely going to depart with one of their goaltenders this offseason, especially due to the fact that the Bruins are currently undergoing a re-tool, and departing with an expensive player could open up some much needed cap space.

Boston Bruins set to depart with one netminder this offseason

Due to this, fans have begun speculating which goaltender is the odd-man-out and who will be departing from Boston.
Let's dissect.
Joonas Korpisalo offered the Boston Bruins some promising numbers last campaign, despite only enduring 24 starts during the 2024/25 NHL season.
This backup net-minder also voiced his frustrations regarding his limited starts with Boston and expressed he is interested in a starting role.
That being said, he's not happy as a back-up, so if the Boston Bruins intend to keep him, he needs to receive more opportunity than they are currently willing to give him.
If not, it might be best to depart with this skilled net-minder, and give him the opportunity to pursue that position with an opposing team that is in need.
Similar to Korpisalo, Michael DiPietro showed immense promise last campaign, within the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, but due to Boston's current overcrowded net, the organization has yet to give him a proper opportunity to prove his value.
That being said, if the Boston Bruins can't offer DiPietro a spot on the roster, he might be better off departing from the organization, and receiving opportunity elsewhere.
Jeremy Swayman is currently the Boston Bruins' starting net-minder, but following an extremely underwhelming campaign last year, fans have begun to believe the organization's best option might be to depart with this veteran net-minder.
Not to mention, this vet also just re-signed with Boston on a eight-year, $8.25 million average annual value (AAV), which is a massive chunk of change considering what he's been offering the Bruins as of late.
Luckily for Boston, Swayman's no-trade clause only begins at the beginning of the 2025/26 NHL season, meaning if they intend to part ways with this goaltender, now would be the time to do so.

Boston Bruins speculated to depart with starting net-minder, Jeremy Swayman, this offseason

With all being said, Joonas Korpisalo and Michael DiPietro are two extremely talented faces in the Boston Bruins organization who have been limited in opportunity to show what they're capable of.
If the Boston Bruins departed with Jeremy Swayman this offseason, they could also free up an immense amount of cap space, giving the organization space to acquire some offensive talent that they are in dire need of.
