Major announcement: Two Boston Bruins players will be stepping away from the organization

A recent announcement ended up confirming that two Boston Bruins players will be taking a step away from the organization to attend an event ahead of the Olympics.
This year, the NHL is finally returning back to the Olympics which will feature countries from around the entire world.
It was a long awaited return, but teams are now starting to prepare for the upcoming 2026 Olympics.
Today, Team USA officially released a roster of players that have been invited to the orientation camp, which is set to take place on August 26th and 27th in Michigan.
Two Boston Bruins players were invited
The announcement today revealed that 44 different players form 24 NHL teams have been selected by Team USA's General Manager Bill Guerin and his supporting staff.
On the list of players invited were some big notable names, and two of them happened to be Boston Bruins players.
Both goaltender Jeremy Swayman, and defenseman Charlie McAvoy received invites to attend the event.
USA Hockey has invited 44 NHL players to orientation camp in preparation for the 2026 Italy Olympics.

Players do not need to participate in the orientation camp to make the 25-man roster.
It was confirmed that the official roster for Team USA is set to be released in early January.
This will not affect the Boston Bruins though, as both Jeremy Swayman and Charlie McAvoy will return back to the organization before the beginning of training camp.
