A recent development has surfaced in the Boston Bruins' net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo, and his future within the organization.
The Boston Bruins have been faced with a clear goaltending dilemma, and the organization may just need to depart with their back-up net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo, this offseason.
This Original Six franchise currently has three NHL level goaltender's on their roster.
Starting net-minder, Jeremy Swayman, back up net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo, and prospect, Michael DiPietro, who has been developing nicely, which is undoubtedly causing pressure for the Bruins.
That being said, the organization is in a position to depart with a goaltender before the beginning of the 2025/26 NHL season.
Boston Bruins linked to departing with net-minder Joonas Korpisalo this summer
According to NHL insider, Rob Couch, he believes that Korpisalo could be the odd man out.
«Joonas Korpisalo isn't too happy with his situation on the Boston Bruins as he played just as well as Jeremy Swayman last season and got 24 starts to show for it. He is looking for a bigger role and won't find it in Boston.»
Additionally, James Murphy revealed that Korpisalo's name has come up consistently.
