Recent reports ended up confirming that Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney ended up calling the Columbus Blue Jackets and made an offer for one of their forwards.
The Boston Bruins have been in trade rumors all off-season, but this time, it seems like they were interested in acquiring a forward from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It was revealed that the Boston Bruins had a major deal in the works with the Columbus Blue Jackets for former first-round pick
Yegor Chinakhov.
Following the season, Chinakhov's agent publicly requested a trade from the Blue Jackets organization.
Bruins had a trade offer on the table for Chinakhov
A report made from Dominic Tiano on August 13th suggested that the Boston Bruins had a serious offer on the table for the young forward.
According to him, the Bruins had an offer for him, but the Columbus Blue Jackets ended up rejecting it.
Believe The Bruins made a play for Chinakhov but CBJ turned it down
There has been no reports on what the Boston Bruins had offered for the former first-round pick, but clearly the Columbus Blue Jackets were not impressed with the trade proposal.
With the Boston Bruins retooling, and also looking to get younger, Chinakhov is a player that would perfectly fit the bill for the Boston Bruins.
He has a high ceiling, and a lot of potential. It would make sense for the Boston Bruins to poke around and see if they could acquire him.
