Rumor: Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney sends a goaltender packing in a trade
There is roughly a month before training camps begin in the NHL, but a new rumor has surfaced that suggest the Boston Bruins are going to send a goaltender packing.
NHL rosters are starting to take shape with training camp right around the corner, but there is still time for teams to make some moves.
The
Boston Bruins are a team that feels like they still need to make a trade or two before the beginning of the season.
Heading into the new season, the Bruins are still in need of a top-line center, but it doesn't seem likely they will acquire one before the season.
There is some speculation that the Bruins are going to move on from a goaltender at some point during the new season.
Bruins to trade a goaltender
According to Rob Couch of NHL Trade Rumors, the Boston Bruins were listed as a team that could trade a goaltender.
Ever since then, he has been in trade rumors this summer.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Boston Bruins move on from Korpisalo, especially with
Michael DiPietro recently signed.
This would clear room for DiPietro to make the Boston Bruins roster, serving as the backup to
Jeremy Swayman, and would also clear $3 million in cap space for the Bruins.
There are several teams looking for goaltending help, with the Edmonton Oilers, and Montreal Canadiens being the most linked to Bruins goaltender Korpisalo.
