The real reason the Boston Bruins placed goaltender, Michael DiPietro, on waivers was just revealed by the organization's newly acquired head coach, Marco Sturm.
The Boston Bruins completed their final roster cuts yesterday, Sunday, October 5, where they placed four players on waivers, and sent five total players down to the organization's AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins.
These final roster cuts shocked many within the hockey world due to the talent that were ultimately sent down.
Some surprising names were placed on waivers by the Boston Bruins including Alex Steeves, Matej Blumel, Jonathan Aspirot, and Michael DiPietro.
Along with that, Matthew Poitras was also sent down to the Providence Bruins, but did not require waivers.

While some of these players are speculated to stay within the Bruins organization, the Boston Bruins' Michael DiPietro is unfortunately not one of them.
As several organizations within the league are aware of this net minders talent, and he has already begun being linked to alternative organizations.
