NHL insider sends a direct message to a Boston Bruins rival: Bruins and Canadiens to combine for a trade?
With the Montreal Canadiens looking for a second-line center, a direct message was just sent to them and it could lead to the Boston Bruins making a trade with them.
There has been a lot of speculation that the Montreal Canadiens are looking at
Mason McTavish, but a new name has surfaced for them.
According to an NHL insider, the Boston Bruins have a perfect candidate to solve their second-line center issue.
Montreal Canadiens to look at the Boston Bruins for help
During a recent episode of The Sick Podcast, Jimmy Murphy ended up bringing up
Pavel Zacha's name.
Jimmy Murphy is very connected to the Boston Bruins, and there could be a chance that this actually happens.
As of right now, he is stating it's just speculation, but that means the Montreal Canadiens have probably kicked the door on seeing if they can acquire Zacha.
Murphy ended up stating that Zacha would be a short-term solution for the Montreal Canadiens, but he could be their answer for their 2C.
The big question is whether or not the Boston Bruins are willing to trade Zacha or not.
Boston has claimed that they want to get back to the playoffs, but some key players remain in trade rumors like Zacha, and Mittelstadt.
Zacha is only 28-years-old, and is still under contract for the next two years carrying a $4.75 million cap hit.
In his last three seasons with the Boston Bruins he has put up 57, 59, and 47 points.
Trading with Montreal would be ideal for the Boston Bruins as they have a load of high level prospects in their system.
