A Bruins podcaster may have just officially revealed what their long-term plan is with $6.4 million defenseman Mason Lohrei.
The beginning of the season has been a struggle for Mason Lohrei, and he has faced consequences because of it.
Offensively,
Lohrei has been great, scoring 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points in 11 games, but he hasn't been great defensively.
Because of this, Lohrei has
sat on the bench for the past four games, and during that span the Bruins are on a four-game winning streak.
Recently, before their game against the Islanders, head coach Marco Sturm spoke on why he was being sat for a fourth straight game.
Notes from Marco Sturm.

Same lineup from Saturday.
Sturm on no Lohrei (healthy scratch) and sticking with same D pairs:
«..right now those guys are, they've been excellent, so there's no reason for me to change that has nothing to do with Mason.
What is the Bruins' long-term plan with Lohrei?
This led to the Bruins' Bear With Me Pod revealing what their long-term plan with him is.
Even if it's more about the play from your other D-men, I still really appreciate Sturm's commitment to taking Lohrei out for a bit. Lohrei is still raw and I think this approach benefits him long term.
He's going to be shot out of a cannon when he gets back in.
The Bruins are hopeful that this is a good learning lesson for Lohrei and that whenever he does come back, he will come back a better player because of it.
