Providence Bruins have announced a new captain

Boston Bruins organization has made a surprising announcement today, and have announced a new captain.
Patrick Brown has been announced the new captain of the Providence Bruins for the 2024-25 season. This announcement was made earlier today, and will make Brown the 27th captain in franchise history. The past two years the Providence Bruins have not had a captain, making Brown the first captain of the team since Josiah Didier when he worse the C in 2022-23.

The new captain appeared in 42 games for the Providence Bruins along with three games in the postseason. During the 42 regular season games Brown appeared in he scored 11 goals, along with 21 assists for 31 points. In the three playoff games he appeared in Brown registered three points against Hartford.
Brown would play some games for the Boston Bruins last year, as he appeared in 11 regular season games, and on postseason game. Across all 12 games with the Boston Bruins, Brown would register just one point.
Brown has been the captain of organizations before. During his senior season with Boston College he was named captain, along with when he played for the Charlotte Checkers which is an affiliate to the Carolina Hurricanes, he was also named captain, and would lead them to win the Calder Cup Championship in 2019. He was also named captain of the Henderson Silver Knights, which is the American Hockey League affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights.
During the offseason in 2023,
Patrick Brown signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract with the Boston Bruins organization, and will now serve as the captain for the Providence Bruins. Along with Brown, there will also be four other alternate captains for the 2024-25 season. Providence Bruins announced that
Michael Callahan,
Vinni Lettieri,
Jordan Oesterle, and
Billy Sweezey will all also wear a letter on their jersey's this year.
