An NHL insider unveils what Boston Bruins fans can anticipate regarding what the return would be for Fabian Lysell if a trade erupted this offseason.
The Boston Bruins are in dire need to undergo a full turnaround for the 2025/26 NHL season if they hope to complete their ongoing rebuild and make postseason contention.
That being said, Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, and the front office have undoubtedly been busy this offseason, by acquiring, departing, and re-signing players within the organization.
Yet, there are several more moves that this Original Six franchise could complete this offseason, and luckily enough, the organization has a few trade assets left on their roster.
And a recent announcement by an NHL insider has revealed what a potential trade could look like in Boston, and what the return would be for the organization.
NHL insider unveils what the return would be in trading Boston Bruins forward
David Staples of the Edmonton Journal cited a recent rumor, suggesting the Boston Bruins may just be cooking up a deal that would see them depart with winger, Fabian Lysell, to the Oilers.
The 22-year old forward was the Boston Bruins' first-round pick in the 2021 NHL draft, however, he has undoubtedly struggled to establish himself as a full-time NHL forward.
That being said, Staples came up with some fair arguments regarding some looming speculations.
He rejected speculations suggesting the Bruins' asking price for Lysell may be forward, Matthew Savoie, or winger, Vasily Podkolzin.
This is due to the fact he doesn't see Lysell as a fit with the Oilers.
Although Staples believes this trade may not erupt within Boston, rumors and speculations are still pointing towards Savoie or Podkolzin.
