Brad Marchand spoke out on former teammate, AJ Greer targeting David Pastrnak during their last meeting, with a dirty hit from behind.
The last meeting on Monday between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, seemed exactly like a playoff game, and it proved how much these two teams hate each other.
The Bruins, and Panthers have faced each other twice in their opening four games, and both times things have gotten ugly. Ever since the past two seasons when these teams have met in the playoffs, the rivalry has grown a huge amount.
During the game on Monday, David Pastrnak was targeted by the Florida Panthers early in the first period. The first time being when he was playing a puck in the corner, and got plowed from behind from his former teammate A.J. Greer. Greer's dirty hit from behind caused forced Pavel Zacha to go after him especially since there wasn't a penalty called on the play.
Marchand was asked about Florida targeting David Pastrnak following their loss to the Panthers and here is what he had to say about it:
«You usually target the other team's best players,» Marchand told reporters, per The Athletic. «So every time he has the puck, they're going to go after him. But I don't think they were going at him too hard.»
The Bruins head to their first road trip of the season, which begins Wednesday night when they take on the Colorado Avalanche.
