Tonight marks game three for the Boston Bruins on the season, and head coach Marco Sturm has officially revealed their starting goaltender as they look to stay undefeated on the season.
Many believed that the Boston Bruins were going to be a terrible team once again this year after their season last year.
So far, the Bruins have been one of the better teams in the league, as they are currently 1st in the Atlantic, and 4th in the league right now.
It's still super early, but the Boston Bruins seem to be a much better team under new head coach Marco Sturm.
After a super solid showing from
Joonas Korpisalo against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night, Marco Sturm is handing the crease back to Jeremy Swayman.
Marco Sturm confirms Jeremy Swayman will start tonight.
Swayman looked phenomenal against the Washington Capitals in game one of the season, and is now getting the crease back.
Against the Washington Capitals, Jeremy Swayman ended up stopping 35 shots, allowing just one goal, and having a .972 save percentage.
The Boston Bruins ended up having a complete team effort in that game and held the Capitals to 0 goals on five power play attempts.
Korpisalo, ended up having a pretty good showing in his first game as well, winning the game 4-3 in overtime, but made some big saves to keep the Bruins in the game.
He also ended up stopping 21 shots out of the 24 he faced, having a 2.90 goals against average, and a .875 save percentage.
Giving the crease back to Swayman is definitely the right move by the Boston Bruins.
