Charges That Milan Lucic Is Facing Have Been Revealed
Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is scheduled to appear in Boston Municipal Court on Monday, and the details of the charges he will be facing have been disclosed.
The Suffolk district attorney's office confirmed on Sunday that Lucic will be charged with a single count of assault and battery on a family or household member, classified as a misdemeanor.
Lucic's arrest stems from an alleged domestic incident during the late hours of Friday evening and/or the early hours of Saturday morning. In response to the news, the Boston Bruins forward has taken an indefinite leave of absence.
This development has sparked speculation about the potential ramifications for Lucic's career in the National Hockey League.
During the opening of free agency this summer, the Bruins signed Lucic to a one-year deal with a $1 million per season cap hit. Injuries have limited Lucic's participation to just four games this season, resulting in a -2 plus-minus rating with no goals and two assists over that span.
The unfolding legal situation adds a layer of uncertainty to Lucic's future in the NHL.
