Today, the Pittsburgh Penguins ended up firing their head coach in Mike Sullivan, he use to be a coach for the Boston Bruins early on during his career, and now he has emerged as a top candidate for the Bruins open position.

Before being fired by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mike Sullivan was the second longest tenured head coach in the NHL behind Jon Cooper.
He was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the last 10 years, and ended up leading them to back-to-back cups in 2016-and-2017.
Longest tenured NHL head coaches post-Sullivan:

1. Jon Cooper - March 2013 #GoBolts
2. Jared Bednar - August 2016 #GoAvsGo
3. Rod Brind'Amour - May 2018 #RaiseUp
4. André Tourigny - July 2021 #UtahHC
5. Martin St. Louis - February 2022 #GoHabsGo
With the Boston Bruins actively looking for a new head coach heading into the 2025-26 season, Mike Sullivan has emerged as a top candidate for their open coaching position.

Mike Sullivan Emerges As Top Candidate For Bruins Head Coach Position

Sullivan was an assistant coach for the Bruins from 2002-05, and is familiar with the organization, making him a perfect fit, and there has been a lot of speculation that he is a top candidate now for the coaching position.
I strongly suspect that the #NHLBruins    had been waiting on this possibility.
It will be interesting to see if the Bruins are looking at him for the open position.
Stay tuned for further details on this situation.
