The Boston Bruins have lost some key pieces during the off-season and in free agency, and they just lost another solid depth player.
During last off-season the Boston Bruins went out and signed James Van Riemsdyk to a one-year $1 million deal. Playing more of a depth role the veteran would add some secondary scoring putting up 11 goals, 27 assists for 37 points in 71 games with the Boston Bruins.
It was rumoured that the Boston Bruins had interest in potentially bringing the 35-year old forward back on a PTO this off-season, but that has changed following a recent repot.
With just about a week to go until training camps begin the Seattle Kraken are reportedly set to sign James Van Riemsdyk to a professional tryout contract.
Chris Johnston of The Athletic and TSN has reported that it is not a done deal yet, and there are still multiple teams interested in JVR, but entering his 16th season in the NHL, teams want to see how he can do on a PTO, and see if he can earn a contract out of that.
Do you think not re-signing James Van Riemsdyk is a bad move for the Boston Bruins?
