Former Bruins decides to leave North America
Anton Stralman, a veteran defenseman with a storied NHL career spanning 16 seasons and seven different teams, has made the decision to return to Europe.
The 36-year-old has signed a one-year deal with HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League, marking a new chapter in his hockey journey.
Expressing his excitement, Stralman shared his anticipation for playing in front of the passionate HV71 fanbase in Jönköping, Sweden.
Reflecting on his own childhood memories of attending games with his father at Rosenlundshallen, he emphasized the significance of returning to an environment that played a formative role in his upbringing.
"I'm really excited. It will be a lot of fun to come to Jönköping and get to play in front of such a dedicated hockey audience as HV71 has. I myself have memories of when my father took me as a child to Rosenlundshallen and we were crowded into the standing room. To now be able to return to something that was part of my upbringing naturally feels awesome.»
