All off-season, there have been rumors involving 22-year-old Anaheim Ducks star forward, and now it was just confirmed for the Boston Bruins.
The Anaheim Ducks have a big decision to make with young forward
Mason McTavish, and now some new details have emerged.
According to NHL insider James Murphy of RG.org, there are currently three teams that are interested in him, with one showing some serious interest.
Mason McTavish's fate with the Boston Bruins confirmed
Murphy ended up revealed that the three teams interested in acquiring McTavish are the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, and Carolina Hurricanes.
He also reported that the Red Wings are the team that are really interested in the 22-year-old center.
McTavish is coming off a career year, scoring 52 points this past season, with 22 goals, and 33 assists in 76 games.
Although it's unclear what direction the Ducks are going to go with McTavish, he made in clear in April that he does not want to leave the Ducks.
«Nothing yet. I'm sure it'll kind of happen as the summer goes on. Obviously, I love it here, and hopefully I can stay here. They believe in me. (No numbers, but) I think that's more between my agent, me, and Pat.»
There are some comparables to what McTavish could get on his next deal. He could get something similar to J.J. Peterka, and
Matthew Knies, or he could get a similar deal to
Quinton Byfield where he signed a five-year, $6.25 million deal.
No deal has been made yet, but the Anaheim Ducks are receiving some interest from a couple of teams.
