James Hagens just issued his first statement to the media after being drafted by the Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins recently drafted forward James Hagens has issued his first statement as a member of the organization, and things are seeming like a steal for Don Sweeney and the upper management.
Generational talent James Hagens was projected to go No. 1 overall just last summer, what changed?
His point production dipped as Boston College declined in the standings, where they losed their footing.
He seemingly caught back up when he was united on a line with Gabe Perrault (now with the New York Rangers) and Ryan Leonard (Washington Capitals).
Despite his production reaching it's original roots, his draft positioning declined when other faces such as Porter Martone, Michael Misa and Anton Frondell's draft stock grew.
Little did Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins know, they would land their biggest piece of the retooling proccess yet on June 27th.
In a statement moments after being drafted, Hagens expressed how happy he is to join the Bruins organization, but that's not all.
"It was one of the coolest moments I've ever had. I love Happy Gilmore, it's my favorite movie...you're sitting there, you're hoping he says your name, and he says Boston Collegeit's something that doesn't feel real."

Hagens excites Bruins fans with statement at NHL draft
Hagens addressed his playstyle, which will get Bruins fans going.
His best description is a mix of Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak, with strong speed, good hands and being a hog on the puck.
We can only hope Sweeney and Hagens reach an agreement to sign his entry-level contract, but it may only come after his final season at Boston College (2026).
