Leading up to day 1 of the NHL draft, there was a lot of speculation that the Bruins were going to trade their 7th overall pick.

The New York Islanders wanted to land Long Island native in James Hagens, but they did not have a good enough offer to the Bruins for the pick.
Instead, the Boston Bruins ended up taking James Hagens with the 7th overall pick, and got a steal.
Hagens for a long time was projected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Level Draft, but ultimately ended up falling to 7th overall.
Boston Bruins fans do not have a problem with this though as Hagens has a lot of upside, and instantly boosts their prospect pool.

He was also pumped that Adam Sandler made the announcement because Happy Gilmore is his favorite movie.
