However, a new proposal may be emerging that could tide over the Bruins while seeking some certainty in Swayman's game. According to Kevin Paul of the Boston Globe, the Bruins may look towards a shorter bridge deal which would be in the range of two to three years. These deals have been done before throughout the NHL as several great players have emerged on the right side of the contract.
One advantage of doing this style would give the Bruins a little breathing room in terms of shaping up their cap situation over the next couple of years well knowing that's women will be paid a higher salary and could bolster his numbers even more to eventually seeking the mega contract he's looking for.
While some have suggested he is seeking over $10 million per season, given his limited amount of play in the NHL and only one playoff series win, it's unlikely the Bruins will give him that kind of money this early on and maybe a bridge deal could be their only hope.
