"I wouldn't be surprised if this goes into camp and he's not signed," said Shinzawa on Bruins Rinkside. "I think we've come to know Jeremy as someone who is very sure of himself, very confident, very secure in what he's done and what he can be."
This confidence was on full display when he sat down with the podcaster recently and explained that he has become a student of the game with business as the focus. Swayman explained that he understands where he sits in terms of his value, what are his comparable goaltenders and how he is partially responsible to helping other goaltenders secure contracts in the future.
Shinzawa explained that he can understand where the Bruins are coming from as Swayman has never submitted a full season of work and even with a strong first round against the
Toronto Maple Leafs and a decent second round against the Florida Panthers to a losing cause, he has only played 132 games in the league.
"That said he has literally never been a number one regular season goalie," added Shinzawa. "There's no comparable there aside from Vasilevsky and he had already had two years of number one regular season performance."
