Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco just revealed what he plans on doing with David Pastrnak after struggling to produce in the 2024-25 season.

David Pastrnak is a elite goal scorer, and he doesn't need many opportunities to make other teams pay for mistakes.

Lately the struggle has been real for the former 60 goal scorer, as just last night against the Detroit Red Wings he had many quality chances to score and couldn't.

This season, David Pastrnak has been presented with multiple grade A scoring chances and doesn't have much to show for.

He still does lead the Bruins in scoring with eight goals this season, but could have many more if it weren't for him missing quality chances.

In his last 13 games alone David Pastrnak only has two goals, and Joe Sacco feels like it will all come back to him.

Joe Sacco stated that he won't give David Pastrnak any sort of pep talk.

Here is what the head coach had to say:

«I think that I'm going to leave him alone a little bit here, give him some space,» Sacco told reporters, per team-provided audio.

«He's certainly, probably pressing. When he gets looks like that they will eventually go in. He's too good of a hockey player. So, just give him some space and hopefully he finds that touch again.»

Although Pastrnak wasn't able to score for the Bruins, he did factor in on the Bruins winning goal by Brad Marchand as he picked up an assist.

Joe Sacoo has emphasized that the Bruins need to fire more shots, and this could lead to Pastrnak scoring more goals.

«It's something we're trying to work out of as a group. We want to be a more shot volume team,» Sacco said. «And I'm not talking about just shooting from every angle of the ice. But certainly we want our (defense) to be more shot ready.

We want to try to get two on the inside more, create some more rebound chances, some two-for-ones. Even with our forwards, I think there's opportunity coming down, entering the zone where we can put more pucks, funnel them to the net and look for some rebound chances there, too. So, it's really just a mindset I think with the group.»
