Just moments ago, NHL insider Chris Johnston revealed that the Boston Bruins were close to signing Morgan Geekie to a contract extension.
The #bruins are finalizing a contract extension with RFA Morgan Geekie, per sources.
Well, now Johnston has revealed that the Boston Bruins have made it official and Geekie will be returning.
Geekie was a restricted free agent, and after scoring over 30+ goals for the Bruins last season, many believed he was in for a massive pay raise.
Fans were pretty surprised to see the AAV he got on his deal, as it was revealed that Geekie has re-sign for six-years, and only carries a AAV of $5.5 million a year.

Today, Don Sweeney has announced three signings for the Boston Bruins.
Earlier it was revealed that the Bruins and Marat Khusnutdinov agreed to a two-year, $925,000 cap hit.
Along with Michael Callahan who signed a 1-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 against the cap hit.
