Boston Bruins Don Sweeney makes big trade ahead of free agency: he just confirmed it to the media
The Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, has just hinted at a major trade ahead of this year's free agency, and it's surprising.
With the 2025 NHL Draft finally behind the
Boston Bruins organization, general manager, Don Sweeney, and the front office can now re-direct their attention to other roster-building tasks that can offer immediate help to the organization's on-going re-tool.
That being said, it seems as though Sweeney has quickly begun dissecting his other plans, as new insight has unveiled that he recently hinted at the Boston Bruins' next move, and stated that fans might not need to wait much longer for news.
Don Sweeney hinted that Boston Bruins fans may not need to wait very long for news to strike regarding the organization's next move
Sweeney recently hinted that contract news is expected to strike Boston very shortly, regarding one of the organization's RFAs (Restricted Free Agents).
However, Sweeney has not revealed which one, so let's dissect.
RFA's who the Boston Bruins organization could potentially re-sign this offseason
While it is possible that this new could be directed to the Boston Bruins'
Morgan Geekie, as he is coming off of a breakout year, and it undoubtedly the Bruins' highest-profile RFA, yet, Sweeney did in fact state Wednesday that nothing was imminent there.
That being said, it seems unlikely that Sweeney's recent hint was directed to Geekie, unless there was a considerable movement during the draft, yet, seems more likely this is regarding someone else.
Lauko was informed that the Boston Bruins will be not re-signing him, and he will test free agency.
There has not been a update on Johnny Beecher yet.
