A significant update has just surfaced regarding Boston Bruins' former veteran captain, Brad Marchand, and his plans for this year's free agency.
Brad Marchand has undoubtedly been a huge topic in the hockey world following his departure from Boston, as the veteran made airwaves in the Stanley Cup Playoffs that ultimately led his new organization, the Florida Panthers, to winning the Cup for the second time in a row.
And now, the former Bruin is no longer in a contract, as his previously 8-year, $49M contract expired at the end of the 2024/25 NHL season, leaving him to become an UFA (Unrestricted Free Agent).
That being said, Brad Marchand's name has been trending immensely within several organizations in the National Hockey League, and a significant update has surfaced regarding where Marchand fans can expect to see him land this summer.

An insider, Pierre LeBrun, has unveiled that the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping to speak to the 37-year old on Tuesday, July 1st, if he doesn't re-sign with the Florida Panthers.

Although Bruins fans are hopeful that Boston's general manager, Don Sweeney, and the front office will offer Marchand a hefty deal in order to re-acquire him on July 1st, the odds are seemingly low.
Due to the fact, the organization missed their opportunity to negotiate a deal with their former captain earlier this 2025 season, which ultimately saw Marchand depart from Boston in the first place.
