Patrick Maroon officially leaves the Bruins and signs with the Blackhawks
The Boston Bruins have officially let veteran and fan favourite Patrick Maroon walk in free agency.
It was just reported by Frank Seravalli that the Chicago Blackhawks have signed Patrick Maroon to a 1 year $1.3 million deal.
Sources say #Blackhawks have agreed to terms with another three-time Stanley Cup champion in veteran Pat Maroon: 1 year x $1.3 million.
The Boston Bruins stated that they would like to bring Patrick Maroon back, but it all depended on how his health was going into the off-season.
Clearly the Bruins didn't think he would be a good fit going into next year and decided it was best for him to walk in free agency.
The Bruins acquired Maroon at the trade deadline to bring in some veteran presence heading into the playoffs.
Thanks for everything Patty!
