The Boston Bruins and GM Don Sweeney parted ways with Brad Marchand during the March 7th deadline, and now it's affecting his friendship with Patrice Bergeron.

The fallout will continue to be immense when it comes to Brad Marchand and the Bruins. He should've retired wearing a spoked-B and even would try to accommodate his former team, but they would trade him instead.
And instead of wearing an original-six jersey until retirement, he is now a member of an expansion square that won their first Stanley Cup last season.
It's quite the trade-off for the Bruin who has had trouble making it past the second round because of his new team, the Panthers. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" right?
Well, enter Patrice Bergeron, the two have been friends for quite some time and have supported each other through thick and thin.
Now, since Marchand is wearing Panthers colors, his kids wanted a Marchy jersey.
Something Bergeron wouldn't even think of buying for his kids.
The former Bruins captain, who spent 14 seasons alongside Marchand in Boston, revealed his children asked for a Panthers jersey after his trade to Florida. He wouldn't budge.

«I said that earlier that my kids were asking for Marshy Florida jersey,» Bergeron said, via NESN. «I said, 'Way too early for that.'»

That's pretty rough no matter how you look at it.
Considering Fanatics does have jersey insurance, and how well Bergy was paid here in Boston, that seems like a response that is equal parts hesitation and hate.
«Just seeing that footage - is definitely different, obviously,» Bergeron said about the clip of Marchand's introduction with the Panthers. «I love him so much. I wish him all the best. But it's definitely gonna be different not seeing him with black and gold.»

A hate that he undoubtedly carries after being pushed out of the playoffs his last season in the NHL by that team.
Only the fact that Marchand just started wearing the jersey is a convenient way to deflect he doesn't want his kids wearing Panthers jerseys.
However, why wouldn't he support his friend who may not end up staying in Sunrise and go chase another cup there?
Celebrate the chance he'll have at another Stanley Cup, instead of pulling away because it's "too soon".
There's another former Bruin who plays in Florida too, A.J. Greer.
You can afford customization can't you Bergy?
