According to a report, a new team has entered the trade talks to acquire a Bruins star player.
The Buffalo Sabres have dealt with some terrible injuries to start the 2025-26 NHL season, and this could lead to them being interested in Bruins'
Pavel Zacha.
Buffalo's biggest need is down the middle, especially after losing center
Josh Norris, who is out indefinitely.
"Another injury to Josh Norris has left the Sabres in need of a reliable second-line center," Richardson wrote. "Management is under pressure to make the playoffs and could become buyers in the trade market. However, Zacha's no-trade clause likely takes them out of the running."
The Sabres have struggled to acquire top talent due to no-movement clauses, and Zacha could be another player they miss out on because of it.
But how can you blame someone when the Sabres are riding a 14-year playoff drought?
With the Sabres' early success this season, it could change players' minds about wanting to go there.
The Sabres are in desperate need of another playmaking center and are hopeful that this could change some of their minds about going there.
Buffalo has seen the impact Zacha can make up close and personal already this season.
During their first meeting, Zacha scored the Bruins' opening goal in a 3-1 win over Buffalo on October 11th and then got a power play assist in the Bruins' 4-3 overtime win on October 30th.
Currently,
Zacha sits second on the Bruins in scoring with 4 goals and 10 points for 14 points in 16 games.
Buffalo may not be able to trade for Zacha due to his no-trade clause, but if the Bruins are making him available, they should at least check in.
