Recent rumors have speculated that the Boston Bruins are set to undergo a major trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins this offseason, and it's shocking.
The Boston Bruins' retool is no where near done, and with the NHL regular season only a few months away, the organization needs to find a way to acquire skilled players to solidify their roster.
And lucky enough, the Bruins could still pull off a late blockbuster trade this summer for one of the most intriguing players of this offseason.
That player being the Pittsburgh Penguins' Erik Karlsson.

The Penguins' goal at the moment is to shed themselves of the final two year's of Karlsson's contract, yet, they are also in need a net-minder.
So, the Bruins could make a solid trade partner for the Penguins by sending their back-up net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo, to Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been seeking to unload Karlsson's $10M cap hit, due to the veteran blue liners no longer fitting in the organization's plans.
However, the Penguins are evidently lacking in the crease and although the team traded for a goaltender, Arturs Silovs, earlier this summer, that move didn't solve their need for a steady net-minder, as Tristan Jarry still remains the club's starter.
With that being said, reporter, Nestor Quixtan of Heavy.com, revealed that adding Korpisalo to the mix might just allow the Penguins to move on from their current net-minder.

«The Bruins get a second-rounder from the Penguins for their troubles in taking Karlsson off their hands. Also, the Bruins would send Andrew Peeke to the Penguins, as there would be a need to open up a roster spot on the blue line. As such, Karlsson would be taking over Peeke's spot.»
