Rumor: Boston Bruins sign Stanley Cup Champion during free agency

There has been some speculation that former Stanley Cup Champion, Evgeny Kuznetsov may be returning back to the NHL.
Kuznetsov ended up scoring 12 goals and 37 points, in 39 games for the St. Petersburg in the KHL last season, and is eyeing down a return to the NHL.
The 33-year-old veteran played 11 season with the Washington Capitals, where he won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
During their Stanley Cup run, Kuznetsov ended up scoring 32 points in 24 games.
Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin told Russian-language publication Gazeta.ru that Kuznetsov is sensible and can make the right choice to prove himself in the NHL again or in the KHL. But Ovechkin said he's not Washington's GM, and whether Kuznetsov can return to the Capitals is not the question for him to answer.
As of right now, Kuznetsov still remains a free agent, but there is a chance that he gets signed before training camps begin.
Boston Bruins linked to Kuznetsov
If he does not return back to the Capitals, the Boston Bruins are going to be a team to watch when it comes to Kuznetsov.
With the Boston Bruins need for center depth, and secondary scoring, Kuznetsov is the perfect candidate for the organization.
There are not many free agents left that can play center, meaning Don Sweeney should definitely be in on him if he does want to return back to the NHL.
He wouldn't be the Bruins true answer to their first line center problems, but he would provide some secondary scoring to their middle six, and a nice addition on the power play.
Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins have only just over $2 million in cap space. It's unclear if this would be enough for Kuznetsov to sign, but Don Sweeney should at least poke around at the idea.
