Brad Marchand is currently proving that he is still one of the better players in the NHL this season with the Florida Panthers.
Last trade deadline, the
Boston Bruins ended up sending Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers in a trade, and it took all fans by surprise.
In return, the Boston Bruins got back a conditional second-round pick, which would turn into a first-round pick if the Florida Panthers made the Stanley Cup Final, and Marchand appeared in 50% of the games.
Both of these conditions ended up happening, and the Bruins ended up getting a 2027 first-round pick from the Panthers.
During the off-season, Brad Marchand ended up revealing why he didn't re-sign with the Boston Bruins, and instead requested a trade.
There was a rumor that the Boston Bruins offered Marchand a two-year $3 million deal, and would not budge.
Brad Marchand said he was never planning to take a 1, 2 or 3 year deal.
"I want to play as I long as I can. That's the main reason it didn't work in Boston. .... I'm thrilled to be here for the next 6 years."
